Long System Combative Arts is the home of Master Hei Long and Black Dragon Lian Shi Kung Fu Chinese Boxing. Master Long began his first Martial Arts class at age 10 in 1962. In 1983, his first book, Dragon's Touch was published by Paladin Press. Between that year and 1996, Master Long wrote a total of 12 books on a variety of Martial Arts subjects which were published by three different publishing companies selling over a million copies in five different languages all over the world. This website and his first DVD, Tie Gun Lian Shi are the first time Master Long's unobstructed image has never been seen publicly outside the restricted classes he taught. Asked about this he replied, "I didn't write the books, nor do I publish these DVD's for fame of vanity. My books were written on Martial Arts topics which I felt needed to be addressed in the Martial Arts community. The Tie Gun study was developed for the average citizen needing an effective system of self-defense."

Master Long's first DVD, Tie Gun Lian Shi, is a unique self-defense system developed for use with the Telescoping Steel Baton, and it is taught in a format which may be grasped and learnable by men and women who do not have a Martial Arts knowledge base. The whole of the study of Tie Gun is to give the average citizen a better chance in succeeding in a self-defense situation without having to carry a firearm. The 9-26 steel baton is easily carried inconspicuously and is extremely effective in blocking and counter striking with far less time and training than it takes to master unarmed fighting skills. The instructional format in Tie Gun Lian Shi is in a plain language style with simplified movements, and the full program gives practitioners the option to submit a video taped test to monitor their progress and skill development through the three levels of study. There is no other comparable program in the world available to the general public.

The first volume of the FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE series: "Unarmed Against The Gun" is now available as an individually purchased DVD or as a Certification Course.

No situation is more danergous than facing an opponent armed with a gun, yet so little emphasis is placed upon studying and praticing these vital defensive techniques. Inspired by the recent robbery/murder of a young local college student, Master Long developed this Instructional Course to encourage the study of weapon defenses with the hope of preventing the loss of another innocent life.

In the course, disarming techniques are taught for all four Horizontal Gates. (The Lian Shi Defensive Gate System was studied in the DVD "Tie Gun Lian Shi" which teaches street application defense using the Steel Telescoping Baton). Alternate techniques and variables are also taught along with many common sense principles unqiue to defensive maneuvers designed for confrontations againist armed attackers.

The instructions and guidelines for submitting a video taped test are described in the final chapter of DVD. Submit a passing test and receive:

Submitting a passing test for certification is far more than a opportunity to earn the Certificate and Embroidered Patch. Taping and submitting the test provides the Practicioner with the opportunity to have his or her movements and technique closely observed and critiqued for perfection of the key elements in weapons disarming which a practicing student may miss during training. No part of Martial Arts training should be taken more seriously than weapons disarming for it is during these types of attacks when the defender is in the greatest danger. Therefore these techniques must be practiced harder, more often, and more seriously than any other pratical application movements.
